The Connecticut Forum consistently delivers the best highbrow conversation in town. The Dec. 1 session, dubbed "Vision & Brilliance" and moderated by NPR's John Dankosky, won't disappoint: featured panelists include astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson (pictured), who wrote the book (literally) on former planet Pluto; modern comic auteur and creator of the DC Comics series The Sandman Neil Gaiman; and designer Neri Oxman, who, oh, you know, is a professor of Media Arts and Sciences at a little place called MIT? Yeah, be glad you aren't up there trading witticisms with these intellectuals. But go and soak up some of their greatness.
The Connecticut Forum: Vision & Brilliance
Dec. 1, 8 p.m., $30-$65, The Bushnell, 166 Capitol Ave., Hartford, (860) 509-0909, ctforum.org.
