If shock-value comedians and adolescent sexual banter aren't your idea of entertaining stand up, then Keith Anthony may be your comedic savior. A Long Island native, Anthony began his career in the early 1990s and since then has been featured on Comedy Central, Showtime, A&E and was named "One of the best comics to come out of Long Island," by Newsday. Anthony's non-stop touring consistently brings audiences to tears, and he'll bring his alternative and down-to-earth talks on topics like modern parenting or being the poor kid in school to Marisa's this Friday. Gary Ewing and Joey Novick open the show.
Marissa's, 6540 Main St., Trumbull. Fri. Aug. 17, 9 p.m. $17.50. (203) 459-4225, treehousecomedy.com.
