Jerry Springer helped to bring our fine nation's credibility down a peg or two when "The Jerry Springer Show" hit big in the early 2000s. It showed America at its worst, and we couldn't get enough of it. It's still on the air, now in its 22nd season, and it's filmed in Stamford. But Springer is a pretty interesting guy, and he's done more in life than just play referee to crazy people. He was also a two-term mayor of Cincinnati, a lawyer, a game show host, a country-recording artist and he's performed on Broadway too. He'll be at the Ridgefield Playhouse Tuesday night to talk about his many successes and challenges.
The Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge, Ridgefield. Tue., April 23, 7:30 p.m. $55-$75. (203) 438-5795. ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
