Jeff Mangum, the semi-reclusive musician best known as the creative light behind Neutral Milk Hotel, will arrive in Hartford on Feb. 8 to play the Great Hall at Union Station, according to a press release from Manic Productions.
Also on the bill: the Music Tapes, fronted by Julian Koster and Robbie Cucchiaro. Koster was also a former member of Neutral Milk Hotel (he notably performed on the saw). Tall Firs opens the show.
Tickets are set at $35 ($30 advance). They'll go on sale this Thursday at noon at manicproductions.org and also at Redscroll Records in Wallingford. One buck per ticket will be added to benefit Children of the Blue Sky.
Here's Mangum's full acoustic set he performed for Occupy Wall Street protesters at Liberty Park on Oct 6, 2011.
