On a day when most of Connecticut can hardly imagine being at a sunny, outdoor music festival, the folks at Gathering of the Vibes offered us all a glimmer of sunshine: the 2013 lineup. And it's good.
Headliners include Phil Lesh and Friends (get this: his "friends" are John Scofield, John Medeski, Joe Russo and John Kadlecik), the Black Crowes (pictured), the return of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, the Roots, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and the John Butler Trio. LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and Rob Garza (Thievery Corporation) will host late-night DJ sets.
Also appearing are the funky METERS, Railroad Earth, John Scofield, FISHBONE, Lukas Nelson (Willie's son) and The Promise of the Real, the Ryan Montbleau Band, Deep Banana Blackout and Cosmic Jibaros. The Silent Disco will return as well.
The festival will be held at Bridgeport's Seaside Park on July 25-28. Tickets are available at the festival website.
