1) The Devil's Gear Bike Shop

New Haven, one of the most bike-friendly cities in the country, heads to Devil's Gear Bike Shop to get outfitted with a two-wheeled ride. Owner Matthew Feiner, who opened his shop for business in 2000, says "people are looking to cut down on commuting, to get out of the car, to ride to work or school. More people are looking to get out of the traffic." Naturally, Feiner's store caters to urban riders, whose ideal bike is a comfortable, upright frame with racks and fenders, allowing them to haul laptops and groceries. Devil's Gear also educates riders on how to be better overall bikers, to enjoy it more and to become more efficient. "New Haven people ride year-round," Feiner says. "We continue to do what we do best, which is focusing on people's needs."
