New Haven's Kaiser Whitney, family-owned since 1978, has the professional connections with area employers to make that happen, says owner James Kaiser. "We'll meet a person looking for work, and we'll know immediately what company to call," Kaiser says. "We can tell them we have a person that's good for their company. That person will look and say, Yes, we'll find that person a job for you." With three divisions -- office support and clerical staffing (secretaries, data entry, receptionists and administrative assistants), professional (accountants, sales and marketing and human resources) and legal staffing (paralegals and attorneys), Kaiser says his firm tends to be a little higher-end than most, with better clients and higher-paying jobs. "We are told by people who interview for us that our testing is more rigorous than other agencies they've been to," he says. "You really have the sense of dealing with an owner and an expert in the field."
