Captain Kitt's: Valentina DaCosta and Tim Ziegler. (May 4, 2012) |
1) Captain Kitt's Cat Boarding
Captain Kitt's is truly a cat paradise. It offers luxury cat boarding at its finest, and the only thing you'll have to worry about while you're gone on vacation is that your newly-spoiled kitty won't want to return home when you get back. "We offer amenities like a regular spa might, like massage, daily brush outs, personal daily voice recordings from their owners, and a personal fish tank if they want," says co-owner Valentina DaCosta, who runs Captain Kitt's with her husband Timothy Ziegler. "There are all kinds of little extras they can have." Cats are video-taped while in the playroom, and owners can use Facebook to see photos and videos of their pets in action. At the end of their stay, each feline is given a report card to show how they did. Fine dining includes (real) shrimp treats and a cat cocktail at night in addition to the usual meals, and optional wheat grass trays or live cat nip for grazing. All special requests within reason are considered, as well as some that might go beyond reason. A librarian client once asked that they read a bedtime story to her kitty every night. Captain Kitt's made it happen.
