Christina Chang-Bryant is a staff chef for Viking and arranges cooking classes as well as teaching them herself. She sees the center's offerings -- which include large group, small group and private cooking classes as well as teaching clients how to use their Viking appliances -- as a unique and fun alternative to going out to dinner with a group. "It's great for corporate team-building or bonding with a group of friends," she said. They can teach everything from a cupcake course to a grilling class to a complicated dinner menu and accommodate anywhere from 1 to 150 people. They work with the state's most famed chefs, from vegetarian wunderkind Mark Shadle to Carole Peck, of Good News Cafe notoriety. "The kitchen is a great place to let your guard down," said Chang-Bryant. "People come in tense, but soon get busy with their hands and relax," she said.
