1) Union League Café
With its vaulted ceilings, working fireplace, white tablecloths and vested waiters, dining at Union League Cafe can feel like step back in time. But it's never too stuffy. Chef-owner Jean Pierre Vuillermet offers such French classics as steak frites and crepes Suzette, but keeps it relevant with contemporary riffs on veal medallions and salmon and caviar. The restaurant also has an ample wine selection, along with an excellent, if small, menu of classically-inspired cocktails.
