1) It's Only Natural Restaurant
Top-selling menu items at Middletown’s It’s Only Natural, long-time winner for Best Vegetarian Restaurant, include the sweet potato fries (served with their own delicious kicked-up ketchup) and the southern fried tofu (scrumptious on its own, or with a sauce of some kind). But that’s not all they serve, not by a long shot. The latest craze, according to owner Renana Magee, is their vegan cupcakes, which have been flying off the shelves. And they’ll even teach you how to make them. “We started doing cupcake classes because people went vegan and suddenly wanted to learn how to bake cupcakes,” Magee said. “Now we try to do one class a month.” Favorite cupcake flavors so far? The banana fluffernutter (made with vegan marshmallows) and chocolate banana. “We usually sell out,” Magee said. “But I try to make enough so that we don't.”
