When the skys the limit, i.e. when someone (or their company) is fitting the bill, Advocate readers head to Max Downtown, where they can feast on raw bar platters, appetizers, salads and sides, extravagant seafood and chophouse entrees, and delicious desserts, paired with wines from an extensive menu or signature cocktails. “I guess its a reverse form of flattery,” says owner Steven Abrams. “I would say that although we are pricey, theres value at every price level.” Each day, Abrams and his staff look at whats on the menu and make sure customers are getting their moneys worth. “We are a fine dining establishment,” Abrams says. “Its the place to go when you can have anything you want.”
