1) East-West Grille
East-West Grille, a popular 12-year-old restaurant housed in a classic silver-line diner, recently added more specials to its extensive menu, including Thai spaghetti, a dish with fresh minced vegetables, curry, and the option to choose your own protein. They’ve also expanded their breakfast options, which owner Manola Sidara described as a traditional menu “with a touch of eastern flavors.” In the springtime, there’s patio dining and a garden in the back, where Sidara grows basil, cilantro, mint, okra, celery, chard and lots of chili peppers to use in their dishes (the staff wears shirts that read “some like it hot”). “It’s not a big place, and it’s very family-oriented,” Sidara said. “Everything is fresh.”
