1) Mayor Pedro Segarra, Hartford
It aint easy being mayor when 30 percent of your population lives in poverty, but Pedro Segarra has done it well enough to get reelected to another term this year. Segarra came to Hartford from Puerto Rico when he was 15, and he knows what poverty means and what it takes to overcome it. Segarra also knows how to have fun. Whether it's at a parade or celebrating Womens History Month, if its in Hartford, youre likely to run into the mayor, and hes likely to have a smile on his face.mayor.hartford.gov
