“Love,” is owner Darrell Sullivan’s explanation of why Lena’s keeps on winning year after year. “Love for food, love for our customers.” He says it’s making sure they’ve got fresh ingredients, the right dough, the right sauce, and “everything else takes care of itself.” But it’s not just the pizza: Lena’s five different flavors of soup every day (like 8 gallons of it) has become a huge added attraction, Sullivan says.
