The Pantry

The Pantry: Paul Zawadski and Andrew Rolleri. (May 15, 2012)

1) The Pantry

The Pantry is pretty much ready to conquer the culinary cosmos. They make their own ice cream and sorbet. They make their own cakes and cookies. Everything from scratch. Pasta is the next frontier for the kitchen. “We’re just in the infancy stages of making our own pastas,” says co-owner Andy Rolleri. “We’re trying to do some interesting stuff, not just straight egg pasta.” Local products are given pride of place there, with area cheeses and yogurts being featured. “We’re like a small sale Whole Foods,” says Rolleri, “because we’re not a restaurant, technically, and we’re not really a stand alone bakery.” There are seasoned butchers on staff. And they’re serious about their meat. ”We grind all of our beef on premises,” says general manager Paul Zawadski.
