Is there ever a bad time to do a shot?
The only time I think is when you've had too many. I know when someone is getting drunk and that's when I ask them if they want a shot of water instead. Believe it or not there are people who don't like drinks or beer and all they drink are shots.
What's the etiquette of tipping?
If it's not a tab and you're buying drinks and paying as you go, than I would expect a dollar per drink. If a group of people start a tab and stay for a while thank I would expect a 20 percent tip from the total bill.
Have you ever had any stalkers?
I haven't had stalkers that follow me or show up night after night kind of thing. I have had creepy people that get close. I have felt weirded out in situations and in one particular I told my manager and he talked to the person and that person hasn't been back.
Is there a drink that you won't serve? Why?
I won't make a mojito when I'm alone behind the bar and I'm slammed. That's how many bartenders feel, I think. Mojitos are very involved drinks. If my customer sitting at the bar asks for one, I will make it but if I get one on service bar I try to avoid it.
