What types of cocktails did you come up with for the winter?
Dessert martini's are popular, we have a Tiramisu one that's delicious. I would also say Grand Marnier in a sifter. Because we are an Italian restaurant we sell a lot of wines, so I would recommend any Italian red or ports for this time of year.
How do you approach bartending?
I always introduce myself and shake hands with bar guests, I love to build rapport with people. I ask questions, I'm very comfortable and approachable and I love a good joke.
You've bartended in variety of bars, have you acquired any followers?
No, but I've acquired a loyal following from each specific establishment I've bartended at. I find a lot of people don't like to leave their comfort zone, they will stay at the place they have always gone to. I have made some great friendships with my customers.
What are people talking about at the bar these days?
People talk about their own lives and what's going on with them. Some have diarrhea of the mouth, they are not afraid to reveal anything, it seems. The Angry Olive is an upscale restaurant and bar, but our clientele is not uptight at all, it's really nice.
