Does weather have an effect on business?
Of course. We watch the Weather Channel a lot here. Although sometimes I pray for rain, just to have a day off. Even though we're on the shoreline, we are open all year round and are surprisingly busy.
Do you find your patrons are more responsible now versus 25 years ago?
People are more careful around here because we don't have taxi service. Also, people dock their boats here so they have to eventually drive.
Do you serve seafood in any of your cocktails?
Yes. We do clam and oyster shooters, which are raw clams or oysters on a half shell in a shot glass with either vodka or in a Bloody Mary.
Best ingredient for a summer cocktail?
Vodka is great for the summer, so I would say Absolut Citron. I also think lemonade is the perfect summer ingredient. We have our own Avery's lemonade and we have a stand and sell quite a bit of it.
