What's the first drink you ever had?
The first drink I had was at the dinner table and it was scotch. My dad's name ironically is Johnny Walker and he gave me my first drink.
When do things start heating up here?
Typically when the live music starts. We have a beautiful stage and a cozy environment. When we close we usher people into East Coast Dog where we serve food until 2 AM, Wednesday and Thursday and 3 AM Friday and Saturday. This gives our patrons a chance, as well as service people from other establishments, to come in and grab some food. It's a great haven for industry people. We choose to do hot dogs because it's inexpensive for us to do, and we can go ahead and pass that to our consumer. The food is cooked to order in a timely fashion while we maintain our standard of excellence.
What are you doing with moonshine?
Moonshine is a grain alcohol, you could mix it with fruit juices. I recommend drinking it by itself. We serve Ole Smokey and it's vanilla flavored.
What's a good rock and roll cocktail?
The Grateful Dead with Chambord instead of Coke. Jack and Coke is very rock and roll, too. A lot of the musicians who play here drink craft beer, Goose Island is a big seller.
