How have you influenced the drink menu?
We are currently writing a new drink menu at the moment. It will consist of some traditional Italian drinks such as a Negroni. There is a drink I make which will go on the menu, it's called Dayna's Lemonade (after our other bartender). It's got Kettle One Citron and Stoli vanilla vodka, lemon juice and a splash of sour mix. I really like making lemon type drinks. I also do a blue raspberry martini with fresh lime juice and a sugar rim.
Any low calorie drinks?
We are going to be doing business with a local distributor that produces low calorie alcohol. The majority of people are looking for low calorie drinks and this could be the trend. A bartender friend of our's David “ Messy” Roth is experimenting with it right now.
What's the most popular way martini's are ordered?
Straight up, shaken, nice and cold. Martini's and wine is what we sell the most of.
Do you find that your patron's are more responsible now versus eight years ago?
It's not so much responsible; I think people are more cost conscious now. Instead of ordering five drinks, people are ordering two. People used to come in at 5 and stay here all night, I now I find people come in have a couple and bounce. They don't camp out as much.
