Do you read any bartending handbooks or frequent any bartending websites?
Not religiously. I sometimes read bartending magazines and I have looked online for drink recipes. That's where I got an idea for my waffle shot; it tastes just like waffles. It has equal parts of Captain Morgan and butter shots and you chase it with O.J. It may sound weird but it's so good, honestly.
What is the most exotic drink you make?
Working here, I get to make more thought-through drinks. Bartending at this establishment has opened up my eyes by far because everyone I work with is such a great talent; they all have a lot of experience in this industry. I love experimenting with margaritas. They are fun and everyone loves a good margarita. I think the most exotic one I make is the blackberry apple.
Is there a drink people order that makes you think that they're probably an alcoholic?
Several things come to mind, actually. When someone orders a dirty martini or any special martini and they ask for well vodka or well alcohol ... or if you're chugging scotch like it's water, that's a sign. Also Rumple Minze on the rocks screams alcoholic.
