What do you do when people ask you to put more booze in their drinks?
I usually ask them if they want a tall- or regular-size drink, that way they get the amount they want.
What's the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you while bartending?
A woman came in with a cat carrier and I told her no pets allowed and she told me that the cat was dead and she needed to have a drink before she buried it. The bar was full and I was a bit embarrassed.
What's the best thing about being a bartender?
The regulars, their personalities. They make me laugh. I have fun and get to find out all the gossip in town. I'll even come in on my day off and have a drink with them during happy hour.
Any new liquors?
Cream. It's an alcohol-infused whipped cream in a can. It's actually pretty high in alcohol. It's made with grain alcohol and it's delicious. We don't sell a lot of it right now but it's great in coffee, white russians or our chocolate raspberry martini. They come in a variety of flavors, including raspberry and chocolate.
