What's been the drinking trend/fad of the summer?I think the sheer volume of boaters, regulars and socialites is what's made this summer different from other years. It's been more of a Caribbean feel, more rum-style drinks, with a pomegranate angle. Psychologically being down here [at the shore] people are going to order these types of drinks. When people see water, they put on their rose-colored glasses.

Has the bar scene been affected by the economy? How?This bar has not been affected because we have a lot to offer. By and large people still want to have fun, relax and escape, especially during happy hour which is Monday through Saturday.

What are people talking about at the bar these days?As Jerry Garcia would say, “There's so many roads.” This place is a chameleon bar.

How have you influenced the drink menu?I'm preferenced to rum. The idea is to project the toes in the sand, or the toes in the water image. The summer image is what I want to draw out when creating cocktails like the Sunshine Daydream or the Peachy Keen.
