For the past four years, five women painters came together to showcase their talents in a group exhibition. The tradition, aptly named Five Women Painting, drew friends and strangers. This year, there's just one catch: one of the gang can't make it. Four Women Painting was born out of this creative disruption, and will celebrate the work of Pam Carlson, Carol Young, Claudia Van Nes, and Cindy Stevens. Though the artists represent a narrow region, hailing from Chester, Essex, and Clinton, their work is diverse. Pigments from watercolor to acrylic to oil are all in play, and the artists' styles range from landscape work to a painted homage to both Mondrian and modern plumbing (you'll know it when you see it).
