A Lecture by Artist John Gerrard at UHart on March 6
Resource extraction goes on all around us, every day, from grabbing fossil fuels underneath our feet to modern agriculture and livestock cultivation. Irish artist John Gerrard takes "virtual portaits" of modern-day, Stonehendge-like masses that dot the landscape all across the country (one of his photographs appears above), the ones we usually drive past without noticing. He'll give a free lecture on Wednesday about his recent works, mostly to Hartford Art School students, but members of the public are invited to attend as well.
