The headline pretty much says it all. A new study has found that women lie repeatedly on Facebook, and that over a quarter of women post a lie at least once a month. Wait, so are you saying my friend Sarah isn’t really the Mayor of Awesomeville? That fucking bitch! From The Telegraph:
Nearly 30 per cent of women lied about “doing something when I am home alone,” almost a quarter overstated their alcohol consumption while one in five were not truthful about their holiday activities or their jobs.
Almost one in five women even lied about their “relationship status.”
The most common reasons for women to write “fibs” included worrying their lives would seem “boring,” jealousy at seeing other people’s more exciting posts and wanting to impress their friends and acquaintances.
The funny thing is, most people are incredibly boring on Facebook. So if they’re lying, imagine how boring their actual life is. It’s like finding out that Gary Coleman was lying about his height. I wasn’t impressed before, now I just feel sad.
