Yesterday, hundreds of Americans showed up at Chick-Fil-A stores across the country to show their support for something that is near to their heart. Cholesterol. I mean, umm, Christianity. From CNN:
Throngs of people weighed in on the Chick-fil-A debate at stores across the United States on Wednesday, buying chicken sandwiches to show their support for the restaurant chain and its president's opposition to same-sex marriage.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee dubbed it "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."
America was founded on traditional values, and lately there’s one important traditional value we’ve let slip away. That’s right, I’m talking about people going to work on a weekday. Let’s not allow politics to shroud what was actually happening here: These slobs were standing in line for hours on a Wednesday afternoon waiting for lard-covered chicken. I don’t believe for a minute they care about family values. They care about high fructose corn syrup and not working. Whether it’s Occupy Wall Street or the Chick-Fil-A idiots, I would like to see all Americans focus on the important traditional value of getting a job. You can blame Obama for the economy, or you can spend 2 hours on a Wednesday waiting for a chicken sandwich. But you’re not allowed to do both.
