The World's Richest Woman Tells Poor People to Stop Being Lazy

Australia’s Gina Rinehart, the richest woman in the world, has come under fire for recent comments about how lazy poor people are. Some applaud her comments as a harsh truth, while others call her out-of-touch with the common person. What exactly did Ms. Rinehart say? From The Telegraph:

Gina Rinehart, a mining magnate worth an estimated £19 billion, has advised those jealous of the wealthy to "spend less time drinking or smoking and socialising, and more time working" in order to be successful.

Usually when an obese twice-divorced woman who inherited her money from her father starts talking about hard work and dedication, I listen closely to that advice. But in this case, I have to disagree with Ms. Rinehart. Not all non-rich people are lazy. Take me for example. I work 50 hours a week minimum, usually much more. I could be making way more money in another field. That's not a hypothesis; I've had offers. However, several years back I made the decision to always go with a job where I was happy and could contribute to society over one that paid well. Unfortunately that decision backfired and now I've been reduced to blogging for CT.com and shooting the occasional gay porn. The lesson is, get a job in insurance and just keep hammering those paychecks.
