The Popemobile is Available For Rental

If you thought taking a limo to the prom was fun, wait until you take a ride in the Popemobile. That’s right, the 1979 Popemobile -- the “classic model” -- is now available to rent. From Time:

The newly transformed Popemobile will cost $325 an hour and seats 14 people — plus one lucky visitor who gets to sit in the Pope’s gleaming chair. There has been no comment from the Catholic Church regarding the transformation of the vehicle.

I was trying to think of the most inappropriate way to use the Popemobile, and I decided it would be to go to a Penn State game while wearing a boy scouts uniform and blasting Black Sabbath. But then I realized, the funniest thing you could do in the Popemobile is to go to church. You could hold that over the priest’s head like nothing else. It would be great. “Hey father, I noticed you driving a ’94 Mercury Topaz. I drive an older car as well. It’s right over there. Yeah, that’s right, it’s the Popemobile, bitch! Kiss the Papal ring!”
