Romney's app, left, and Obama's, right (August 1, 2012) |
Yesterday morning, both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney released their own apps. Obama’s, called “Obama For America,” gives users news about the President’s campaign and allows people to easily organize in favor of the incumbent. Romney’s app, “Mitt’s VP,” has a more singular purpose. Anyone who downloads it will be notified the minute Romney announces a Vice President. From Mashable:
“The first official way to learn the name of the Republican Vice Presidential candidate is by using our new ‘Mitt’s VP’ app,” said Romney Digital Director Zac Moffatt. “Users of the app will be the first to get the news on the biggest political decision of the year through an instantaneous alert on the one device most people carry around the clock -– their phone.”
Meanwhile, Ralph Nader has offered to play any of his fans on Words With Friends. It’s not a political ploy, he’s just really lonely.
