Man Pretends to Be Gay For a Year, Learns a Life Lesson

The idea that homosexuality is wrong is something that most hardcore Christian are taught from an early age. But for Tennessee native and conservative Christian Timothy Kurek, one thing was more important than his long-held religious beliefs: The chance to make money off a book deal. That’s why Kurek pretended to be gay for one year. Kurek recruited a fake boyfriend and “came out” to his family and friends, many of who cut off contact after hearing the news. During his year as an undercover gay, Kurek faced discrimination, resentment, alienation, and worst of all, one time a guy hit on him. But in the end, he learned a valuable lesson.
