In an effort to improve American-Middle Eastern relations, the U.S. Department of State has invited musician Andrew W.K. to travel to Bahrain as a cultural ambassador. W.K. will visit schools and other locations to promote "partying and world peace." I know that sounds made up but it's true, just click here and you'll see. Andrew W.K. posted this message on his website:
"This is a tremendous invitation. I'm very thankful to the Department of State for giving me the opportunity to visit a place I've never been before. And I feel very privileged and humbled by the chance to represent the United States of America and show the good people of Bahrain the power of positive partying. I can hardly wait for this adventure!"
Nothing we do seems to fix the trouble in the Middle East, so why not give this a shot. I suspect Andrew W.K. will be sadly disappointed when he arrives and realizes the Middle East isn't really down with partying. "Hey, who's ready to pound some beers? What? You don't drink? Alright, well, in that case we can skip the booze and just rock out to some kick ass rock 'n roll music!! Oh, you only listen to music with oboes? Umm, well, OK... I guess we could just fire up the grill and eat some pork. Wait, what?! Oh, come on, man!!!"
