First, the story was that Patrick Witt's coach in fact did not choose between playing the big game and interviewing for a Rhodes scholarship. He lost his job.

Then the story was that Witt, the star quarterback for the Yale football team, did not have to choose either because the Rhodes people learned of allegations of sexual assault against Witt. The New York Times ran a devastating story to that effect.

Now, Romensko broke the news that the Yale Daily News knew about the allegations against Witt and suppressed the information long before all the media hoopla over his deciding the play the big game over taking an interview with Rhodes, etc.

This is truly the story that keeps on breaking.
