Ever since Texas Gov. Rick Perry showed up in Connecticut last June trying to lure this state's gun manufacturers to his state, I've been on the lookout for more reasons why someone would prefer to live in the Lone Star State as opposed to our old Land of Steady Habits.
(Perry's promises of lower business taxes just didn't seem enough, given the sad ratings for stuff like education, poverty and crime that Texas gets compared to Connecticut.)
And I just found another one:
Mobs of gun-enthusiasts carrying shotguns, assault rifles and other firearms are apparently planning a demonstration at the Alamo in San Antonio. Their goal seems to be to reinforce that state's extraordinarily tolerant attitude toward the gun culture.
Oh ya, baby, now that's a tourist draw for sure.
Wouldn't you love to be visiting San Antonio and walk into a demonstration of hundreds of heavily armed gun nuts?
For some reason, the concept seems to be making local law enforcement people a tad nervous. You don't suppose Gov. Perry is worried, do you?
I mean, what could go wrong?
