Happy Valentine's Day, or if you prefer, just plain old Tuesday, everyone!
I have a love/hate relationship with this holiday, but I can honestly say this is the calmest V-Day I've experienced in years. I did not receive any empty-gesture flowers from a shitty boyfriend this year. In fact, last year was only the second year I got flowers for Valentine's Day. The second year in a row, from the same boyfriend. And six weeks later, he imploded the relationship, ultimately leading to its demise. And is now dating his coworker that I patiently listened to him complain about for months. Good job, you guys. I hope you have the kind of fun terrible people have on a made-up holiday.
But, this Valentine's Day can be sweet. I was presented with a lovely locket and some chocolates from a new love interest this morning. And I'm spending tonight with one of my best lady-friends for some quality ukulele/"Bridezillas" time. Not that that's any different from any of our other hangouts.
Anyway, I threw together some of my favorite love songs into a Spotify playlist over the last few months. Just a smattering of tunes that have made me either swoon with wishful thinking, or realize how awful my past boyfriends really were. You can find the list here.
