The U.S. Census Bureau is reporting that a majority (50.4 percent) of all U.S. kids under one year old are now minorities, as in non-white or Hispanic. The Hartford region hit that mark a while ago, and in this latest report is listed as having 52.2 percent of all under-one-year-olds in the minority catetory.
If this is bothering anybody, you have some historical companions. Connecticut's WASPS felt exactly the same way about the arrival of all those Irish folks. And the Irish felt the same when the Italian immigration wave arrived.
