As Connecticut moves closer toward the reality of legalized medical marijuana, it will also see its very first “Connecticut Cannabis Exposition” this November in New Haven.
The Nov. 15-17 event is expected to have 40-50 vendors exhibiting at the convention, according to Hanlee Productions, LLC, the sponsor.
Hanlee Productions is run by the same Douglas Breakstone who announced back in April that his Hanlee Pharmaceuticals planned to apply for state licenses as a medical marijuana producer and distributor.
The convention is scheduled to take place at 1175 State St., in New Haven, which is a renovated and massive former trolley barn/factory building.
Connecticut officials now have detailed regulations to govern every aspect of its planned medical marijuana program and hopes to approve producers and dispensers by early 2014 and have medical pot being delivered to patients by next summer.
Here’s the rundown on the medical marijuana exposition, according to the release from Breakstone’s company:
Educational: Medical professionals will be offered seminars on the scientific, psychological, interactional, and medical aspects of MM. Leading experts in the field of MM will be speaking. Seminars for patients will provide information on the safe usage and medical effects of MM.
Classes on horticulture, fertilization, equipment, cooking and other edibles will also be presented. There will be no charge for the patient or medical professional seminars.
Business to Business: 40-50 vendors will be exhibiting at the Expo. Building trade (construction, electrical, HVAC), agricultural (growing, lighting, ventilation), legal, financial, consulting, along with other businesses ancillary to the MM industry. Producers, dispensaries, and businesses which supply and service the MM industry, will want to attend this Expo.
General Public: Vendors selling hemp clothing, bags, fabrics, growing systems, items of interest and paraphernalia used with cannabis. There will be food concessionaires, a full bar and seating for 50.
