When a friend says, "Hey, I've got this comedian friend you should really check out sometime," the natural reaction is to cringe and get ready for some awful comedy.
But in this case the friend was right. The comedian was Mike Birbiglia who has since risen to become one of the top stand up acts in the country.
His "Joey Bag of Donuts" routine was popular enough to become the name of a burrito at Moe's. Sounds like the big time to me.
He's bringing his act to the Stamford Palace on May 3rd.
