Here's a disturbing investigative piece into apparent cover-ups of sexual abuse within the Boy Scouts of America, an organization that's been under fire for its anti-gay policies.
What's so strange about all this is how similar it all sounds to the sex-abuse scandals that have plagued the Catholic Church - another organization that's vehemently anti-gay.
The allegations involving the Boy Scouts covers almost the exact same territory: failure to report alleged abuse to authorities; helping offenders to cover their tracks; and failure to prevent abusers from getting access to more children.
The motivation also appears to be similar: a desire to protect the reputation of the organization.
Boy Scout officials have insisted their reluctance to make public their secret files on molesters within their ranks was simply an effort to protect the victims.
Interesting contrast: Keep your records on child abusers secret but be very public about expelling homosexuals - who've never been accused or even suspected of child abuse - from your ranks.
