One-Minute Time Waster: The Matrix in 60 Seconds

One-Minute Time Waster: The Matrix in 60 Seconds

The Matrix is an awesome movie. I can't say the same for the second and third installments. The only other movie to have me fuming angry after seeing it in theaters was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and even I've calmed down about that over the years.

Inside the Studio with "Bob's Burgers"

Do you guys watch "Bob's Burgers"? You should. It's one of my favorite shows, and features great actors as the characters' voices. In fact I'm so into the show that I find it hard to realize the voice actors are not the characters themselves when talking as a human person. H. Jon Benjamin, whose voice is instantly recognizable, has become Bob Belcher in my head. Same with Dan Mintz, the voice of Bob's oldest daughter Tina. When he talks, all I hear is Tina. Good job, guys!

The cast of Breaking Bad goes bowling with Nerdist

Are you as excited as I am for the return of "Breaking Bad" in a little over a month? If you're having trouble sitting still with anticipation, may you find comfort in this video from Nerdist's series of celebrity charity bowling competitions. Bryan Cranston, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte and Aaron Paul bowled against the Nerdist crew for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Team Breaking Bad beat Nerdist, but didn't win the overall competition. Either way, if you're a fan of this...

"Community" returns March 15!

There is a god in TV heaven, you guys. Word got out yesterday that "Community" returns to the airwaves in a few weeks, on March 15, in it's usual time slot of 8 p.m. Thursdays. Now that we've made it out of the darkest timeline alive, I was finally able to watch the holiday episode that aired in December on Hulu. I needed to know it was coming back before I could potentially close the chapter of the first half of season three.

Giancarlo Esposito on "Community"?!

Fans of "Breaking Bad"and "Community"take notice. Giancarlo Esposito is filming an appereance on NBC's beloved and currently-benched TV show. He'll play a business associate of Pierce Hawthorne's dead father. I, for one, am super excited to see Esposito interact with with Chevy Chase's character, since Pierce Hawthorne is a crazy old man, and Esposito can do anything.

Cult British Comedy, Snuff Box, Now Available on DVD in U.S.

“The pasty, jowly, chubby guy -- the American guy who plays the zoo boss and who’s always wearing too-tight pants suits and rubbing his nipples in ‘The Mighty Boosh.’” That was the only way I could describe Rich Fulcher, one half of the duo who make ‘Snuff Box,’ a sick/corny/sometimes very funny, “dark” and highly allusive 2006 British sketch comedy show now out on DVD in America. If you have no idea what “The Mighty Boosh” is and...

Best News: Party Down Movie in the Works

Is 2012 not just the best already? Answer: It totally is. Here's some proof. Megan Mullally, occasional "Parks and Recreation" guest star and real-life wife of Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour that a "Party Down" movie is happening, and the entire cast is coming back, but maybe not Jane Lynch. Still! "Party Down" is...

Emmet Otter Bloopers: Turn any belly into a bowl full of jelly

Happy holidays, you guys! Today is Festivus, Christmas and Kwanzaa are almost here, and we're smack dab in the middle of Hanukkah. We all have our own holiday traditions, and the work of Jim Henson has been a big part of this time of year for me for many, many years. The Muppet Christmas Carol and Christmas Eve on Sesame Street have been Christmas week viewing staples in my house year after year. For some reason, I was left off the Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas bandwagon as a kid, and while I...

Pour one out for "The IT Crowd."

I just read that one of my favorite shows, "The IT Crowd," is ending its run after four seasons. Or, as they call them in England where the show happens, "series." Considering I'd spent the last year patiently awaiting the arrival of series five since I'd stumbled across the show on Netflix, I'm pretty disappointed.

Tonight I'm going to watch "House" from my house

Season 8 of "House" premieres tonight on FOX at 9 p.m. Will you be watching? It's kind of a big deal, as it may be the show's final season (fingers crossed it's not!), and also because at the end of season 7, House drove a car through Cuddy's living room window. So, you know, lots to catch up on!

"Fringe" makes CT cool again, kind of

Off the Grid of Suckiness: Boos for Bravo's Approval Matrix

Bravo finally premiered its Approval Matrix show last night, and the network‘s taste wizards must have known they had something stanky -- “lowbrow despicable” in the lingo of the matrix. They saved it until 11, after Top Chef, and there wasn’t a lot of advance teasing, no elaborate trainwreck enticements like the Real Housewives franchise. (It’s not even clear if you can find anything about the show on the network’s web site.) The idea was to make a show...
