Sunday is the 38th annual Cherry Blossom Festival in historic Wooster Square, which is bound to be an absolutely terrific event.

I will admit, in the name of honesty, that what first drew my interest was a flyer that said something about cherry pie, and not the fact that this will obviously be a lot of fun for you and your kids. But I've turned it around, guys.

Check out the web page linked above for more information, including entertainment, food vendors and other activities like face painting and cherry tree planting. Seriously, I did want to publicize what will not only be a great day in one of my favorite New Haven neighborhoods, but also a fitting tribute to the ancient Japanese tradition of Hanami: enjoying the beauty of cherry blossom viewing.
