Ok, ok, we know that Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" has been just about inescapable this year, with it being the super hot jam of the summer and all, but let's be real for a second and waste no time pretending it's not a great song. It's fun and catchy, and instantly meme-able. What more could we really ask for?
What's that? A 32-minute version? Slowed down so much that it sounds like an epic post-battle, series-ending scene from Lord of the Rings? Good news! That exists.
Listening to it is like ... being inside one of those shots that zooms out from an atom, to a molecule, to a cell, to a person, into space and back to an atom. But really slowly. Or like, dropping acid inside a sensory deprivation chamber. In space. A friend says it's like the soundtrack to Enya and Sting having tantric sex for hours. Or a cassette tape stretched to an infinite length by a black hole as interpreted by Simon Cowell. So, like, totally epic.
I honestly feel like the last person on earth, standing atop a cliff, overlooking the ocean, collecting my thoughts after vanquishing all my foes when listening to it. Is there any other feeling you'd need more on a Tuesday? We think not. Experience it for yourself:
